My Contact Manager is a CRM built using a Microsoft Access database. It is an excellent Microsoft Access database example that demonstrates types of interfaces available from a professional development company. It is free to download and use with a limit of 500 clients per copy. My Contact Manager has a number of features to help individuals or companies manage their relationship with clients.

A full list of My Contact Manager features

  • Store the contact details of up 500 clients (free version). Includes multiple phone numbers, email address and physical addresses. A client can either be a company or person.
  • Store the name, phone number and email of multiple individuals for each client
  • Link each client to a folder in Outlook and to a directory on the computer.
  • Assign each client to one or more categories.
  • Filter clients by a category
  • Run mail merges on the full client list, a sub set of the client list or an individual client
  • Store a complete history of all phone calls and contacts with clients
  • Schedule contacts such as tasks or appointments with clients, with remainders.
  • View the scheduled contacts by either a list or with a calendar
  • Run a birthdays report on clients
  • Run a report of client addresses

Steps to download and install

Step 1. Download and install My Contact Manager. Follow the prompts to install. The database will ask for a registration code when the install is complete. Download My Contact Manager

Step 2. Fill in the information below and click the submit button. A registration code will be sent to your email address

Step 3. When you receive the registration code enter it into the registration form.

Windows Vista Users

To ensure correct installation please run the installation package by right mouse clicking on the file and select the Run as administrator option. You may also need to grant write permissions to the directory where the My Contact Manager installs, C:\Program Files\My CM.

To grant write permissions:

  • Open Windows Explorer (Windows Key + E)
  • Browse to C:\Program Files\My CM
  • Right mouse click on the My CM directory and select Properties
  • Click on the Security Tab and press Edit…
  • In Group or user name box, select Users
  • In Permissions for Users, check Full Control
  • Press Apply, then OK Then OK once more to close the Properties box

Access 2007 Users

For the My Contact Manager to work with the new Access 2007 trust model you need to setup a trusted location for My Contact Manager. To add a new Trusted Location follow these steps. Open Access 2007
  • Press the Office Button and select Access Options
  • Select the Trust Center from the list at the left
  • Press the Trust Center Setting… button
  • Press the Add new location… button
  • Press the Browse… button and select C:\Program Files\My CM
  • Check the box labeled Subfolders of this location are also trusted
  • Press the OK button
